Have you ever noticed how children can think up the most bizarre, imaginative ideas? Something like cardboard box-powered flying vehicles or a spacecraft powered by chocolate milk. The reason for this is that their imaginations aren’t restricted by conventional expectations or the tiresome grind of “reality.” They are downloading creativity like it’s free Wi-Fi because they are tuned into the collective consciousness. Nothing but pure, unadulterated imagination—no limitations or filters. After that, life occurs. When society takes over, those wild, unrestrained thoughts are quickly hidden away and packed up under the label of “unrealistic.”
We’ve seen it all from bold startup concepts to the most incredible things realized. However, if there’s one thing I’ve discovered, it’s that your level of achievement is closely correlated with the size of your dreams. The power of creativity is immense, regardless of your level of experience as an entrepreneur or your level of inexperience. Yes, sometimes even the most realistic among us need to relive that sense of childhood wonder. Ultimately, the most innovative ideas frequently lead to the greatest discoveries.

If you don’t feed your imagination, it becomes like that one buddy who’s always up for an adventure and becomes unreliable in answering your calls. As we become older, every bit of knowledge we are exposed to shapes our imagination. rubbish in, rubbish out is quite similar to SEO. What happens if you expose your mind to uninteresting, dreary content? That will come across in your imagination. Since our thoughts are the instruments we use to bring our goals to life, we must exercise discernment in what we let into them.

Have you ever attempted to create an artwork with a paintbrush that has dried up? I don’t think that would work out so well, but I’m not alone. It’s the same with visualization. How can you hope for the huge dreams if your head is full with ordinary ideas and restrictive beliefs? To create the future you want, you need to have creative, original ideas. Keep in mind that an artist need his or her whole toolkit, not just a canvas. You’re in creative limbo if you don’t have the appropriate mental image.

Most spiritual practices agree on one thing: the mind needs a reset—a return to its untainted, childlike state. Take the Bible, for instance. It’s got some pretty solid advice on thinking positively and abundantly. You don’t need to be a believer to appreciate the wisdom here: “Whatever is true, whatever is honest, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report; if there is any excellence, if there is any virtue worthy of praise, think on these things.”
Translation? To dream big, you need to overhaul your thought patterns and stock up on “true, honest, just, pure, lovely, good, and excellent” thoughts. Feed your imagination with content that uplifts and empowers you.

Every dreamer hits a crossroad: chase your passion or go for the practical option? It’s a tough call, but remember, your brain needs those sleep-induced dreams to fuel creativity, problem-solving, and innovation. Harvard Business Review even suggests you can train your brain to be more creative, expanding its capacity to help you achieve those audacious goals.
Imagination is a powerful tool, but it’s often undervalued. Exceptional thinkers like Einstein used thought experiments to tackle tough problems and achieve the impossible. If you want to manifest your big dreams, it might be time for a mental paradigm shift.
